The Decebal Hotel, the former Hotel Ferdinand, is located south of the Piaţa Hercules spa architecture complex, on the left bank of the Cerna River, in the continuation of the corridor from the Stone Bridge.

The building, built with a mezzanine, ground floor and two floors, bears the imprint of a Transylvanian baroque style, with many decorative elements and an entrance highlighted by majestic stairs, framed by columns.  The central section of the entrance is decorated on the facade, on the 1st floor with the statues of Aesculapius and Hygea, and on the 2nd floor, two plaques with two bas-reliefs inscribed with the years 1860, when the construction of the building began and 1862, when it was inaugurated, as well as the initials  to the emperor, F.J.  (Franz Joseph).

On April 28, 1887, the Franz losif Hotel hosted the King of Romania, Carol I, together with Queen Elisabeta (Carmen Sylva), an event that was marked by a marble plaque placed on the facade.
