Ansamblul Gării Feteşti

Fetești Railway Station, together with the Fetești C.F.R. Railway Station and the Fetești-Gară C.F.R. Depot, as well as the bridges connecting Fetești to Cernavodă, designed by engineer Anghel Saligny, are included on the list of historical monuments of national interest, in category A.

The building was put into use in 1887, being built together with the railway line connecting Bucharest to Fetești. It has an architectural style characteristic of transit stations, similar to numerous other C.F.R. stations built in Romania before World War I.

The structure of the building is composed of three parts: a central body with a ground floor and two floors, and two side bodies, each with a basement, ground floor and one floor. The facades are made of exposed brick, with windows with Roman and flat arch openings, and the frames and cornices are simple, also made of brick. A similar building was also built in Ciulnița.

The foundation of the building is made of stone, the masonry is made of brick, the floors are made of wood, and the roof is made in four slopes, with a wooden frame and initially covered with tiles. Over the years, the building has undergone architectural changes due to subsidence of the land on which it is located, a fire in the winter of 1994, but also as a result of several repair works.

Starting with 2004, the station building entered a rehabilitation process that included consolidation works, restoration of the roof and facades, along with other interventions.

The Fetești-Gară CFR depot, located near the station, includes, in addition to the depot itself, administrative buildings, repair workshops, as well as other annexes such as the water tower and warehouses.

The bridges connecting Fetești and Cernavodă were built between 1890 and 1895 and represent one of the important achievements of the engineer Anghel Saligny.

Currently, the platforms and railway lines of Fetești Railway Station are in the process of being modernized.
