The Ciucaş Mountains are some of the most interesting and complex in the Carpathian Mountains. Although they are not very high (1200-1650 m), they offer spectacular landscapes thanks to the diverse geological formations, mostly made up of conglomerates. They are made up of pebbles and blocks of limestone and crystalline rocks, shaped by natural agents into bizarre shapes such as towers, cliffs and stone mushrooms.

The ridge Zăganu-Gropșoarele and the group of peaks Ciucaș-Tigaile Mari-Tigaile Mici give the impression of fortress ramparts, and as you get closer, complexes of towers and impressive rocks become visible. In the Ciucaș Mountains there are numerous points of attraction and scientific interest, many of them being declared nature reserves due to the distinct landscape and the rarity of natural elements.

The tourist routes are well marked and accessible throughout the year, with departure points from the climatic resort of Cheia and several mountain huts. The hikes last between 3 and 6 hours, providing excellent opportunities to admire and study the varied landscapes.

The reserves include Tigaile Mari-Ciucaș, known for its peaks and complex geological forms, and the summit of Zăganu-Gropșoarele, notable for its impressive steepness and rich vegetation of meadows and scrub. Also, the Suvițele Berii area, located in the upper reaches of the Teleajen, is protected for its springs and specific vegetation. In the southwest of the mountains, on Bratocea Mountain, there is a clump of junipers and rock formations, including the "Sphinx of Bratocea", a naturally shaped rock.

In these regions, there are various plant associations of meadows and thickets, adapted to the specific environmental conditions, contributing to the biodiversity and natural beauty of the Ciucaș Mountains.
