Built in 1881, the House of General Gheorghe Ionescu-Sinaia is a heritage building with a footprint of 279 sq m and a total floor area of 786 sq m, organized on four levels: basement, ground floor and two floors. The architectural style reflects the characteristics of Sinaia at the end of the 19th century, notable for the elaborate wooden decorations that adorn the main facade, along with the abundant use of stone.

The interior maintains a sober appearance, each level being structured according to an orderly plan, with a spacious central hall from which one can access the rooms arranged laterally. Among the distinctive elements are the terrace that extends along the entire facade on the first floor, as well as the enclosed balcony on the second level. Although the house has not been inhabited for some time, it retains its old charm, bearing the marks of the passing years with dignity, but it would need an extensive restoration project to regain its former glory.

The current name of the property comes from the official list of historical monuments, being assigned in honor of one of its most famous owners, whose name suggests a predestined connection with this residence. Gheorghe Ionescu-Sinaia was born in Breaza, in 1888, and participated in both world wars under the tricolor flag. His courage on the front was recognized by numerous decorations and distinctions. In 1939, he was promoted to the rank of general, occupying first-ranking leadership positions during World War II.

The house on Carol I Boulevard in Sinaia was not only an important property for the general, but also the home where he spent his entire life, until the age of 81.
