Ladislau Fortress, a medieval fortress from the 15th century, is mentioned in documents for the first time in 1427.

It was fortified and used by Emperor Sigismund of Luxembourg to attack the fortress of Golubac, which he failed to conquer.

The fortress of Golubac is located on the current territory of Serbia, and with this attack, the emperor tried to balance the balance of power on the two banks of the Danube.
