For pilgrims visiting the Southern Dobrogea Plateau, known for its archaeological monuments, nature reserves and resorts on the Black Sea coast, a special point of attraction is the Limanu-Hagieni Monastery.

Christianity penetrated this area since the apostolic period, Saint Andrew the Apostle preaching the Gospel in the second half of the first century AD.  With the blessing of Patriarch Teoctist and under the guidance of Archbishop Teodosie of Tomis, in June 2001 the establishment of the Limanu-Hagieni Monastery was approved, dedicated to "The Nativity of the Mother of God" and "St.  Prophet Ilia Tezviteanul".

Located near the "Pădurea Hagieni" Nature Reserve, on the shore of Lake Limanu, the monastery offers a landscape that contributes to the building of the soul, creating a small paradise for all those who come to find their spiritual peace.

The monastery is located 12 km from Mangalia, on county road 391, between the city of Mangalia and Negru-Vodă, with easy access to the "Pădurea Hagieni" Nature Reserve.
