Filippo Dozzi was the founder of the famous salami factory in Sinaia, the place where the famous Sibiu salami was first produced around 1910. Originally from Italy, more precisely from the town of Frisanco-Udine, he decided to emigrate to Romania, settling in Poiana Țapului in 1895.
With a stonemason’s trade, Dozzi initially worked at the Piatra Arsă stone quarry. Later, he founded his own business, called “Individual Enterprise Filippo Dozzi”, which operated until 1954, when it was nationalized. The company’s activity continued after this period, today bearing the name Salsi S.A.
